Cody

The drive to Cody, although slow-going and desolate at times, was beautiful.

I'm not typically big on museums, but The Buffalo Bill Historical Center is a good one. From what we saw, (because there was no way to see it all in one afternoon,) I especially liked the display of western wear through the years. The museum is named after Buffalo Bill, (William Frederick Cody) who founded the town.

Carlos in Cody.

Unfortunately, Cody did not have a camera charger. Sam is taking a photography class and has been using Andy's camera to take loads of pictures. Eventually, the battery died. The two of them searched EVERYWHERE for the charger multiple times, until they came to the conclusion that it had been left at home. Then Andy searched again, because he was sure he remembered packing it. No luck. Since the Black Hills, we've been on the hunt for a replacement. Two Radio Shacks and two Walmarts...no charger. Then we found a camera shop listed in Cody. I called and they had the desired item in stock. I explained my location and asked for directions. The woman on the other end of the line paused, then asked, "What town are you in?" Turns out the store is located in Bozeman, Montana. Apparently they are the only store of their kind within 100 miles and advertise all over that 100 mile radius. Oh well...Bozeman is not on the path.

On a whim, we decided to stay in Cody for the night instead of trying to make it to Yellowstone. It gave us time to get the mirror fixed.

And walk into town for the evening.

Cute town, but not my favorite.
Looking forward to Yellowstone tomorrow!
